Rosanne (Black) Croft was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She graduated from St. Mary High School (later Seton High), and attended the University of Minnesota where she earned a BA in European History and watched lots of hockey. After another year studying Russian at University of Wyoming, she married another Wyo native and forgot all that education for a wonderful life with him. Rosanne was a writer when there were manual typewriters and worked for Multnomah County Library in Portland. Best job ever for her. She reads an amazing amount of eclectic literature, news, cereal boxes and juvenile fiction, and researches her books using methods taught in historiography class. Today she and her husband have a comfortable house and garden in Central Oregon. She has a grown daughter and two married stepsons and five grand-children. She looks forward to readers leaving a note!
